Baseline Environmental Monitoring is vital part of predicting and evaluating potential environmental impacts which helps to understand existing environmental conditions thus defining the focus of the environmental impact analysis and resources that need protection through appropriate and viable mitigation measures. A number of national and international environmental policies and multilateral lending agencies regulations require description of existing environment that might be affected by potential development.

AETRL has completed several assignments related to base-line environmental monitoring for number of EIA /EMP projects. Some of assignments were also done for bilateral funding projects.

Baseline Environmental Monitoring:

  • Physical Environmental Components such as Meteorology, Geology, Topography, Soil characteristics, Air Quality and Noise Quality, Surface water and Ground water quality.
  • Biological Environmental Components including biodiversity-flora and fauna.
  • Socio-Economic Components include socio-economic profile of the project area and its community.
